One_day_at_a_time.jpg

Today is the day I let go of my fear and worry about the future....(haha) I know I will probably have to let go of that at least 5 more times before I go to bed tonight. I have heard of a few tragic stories about deaths in the past couple of days, and all of a sudden it really hit me...my days are numbered, so why am I wasting them with fear and worry? I have been trying to focus on one day at a time. Surrendering to God and being obedient to him, one day at time. Trusting and praising him, one day at a time. When I think about it as one day at a time, it doesn't feel so overwhelming anymore, and I feel a little bit better about the future. Why would I want a sinful and broken person like myself controlling my life anyway? God, my creator who knows all things, is much better qualified for such a role. So, I think I am going to step back and allow him to take charge :)

"He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way. All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful toward those who keep the demands of his covenant."
Psalm 25: 9-10

Snow Day

This post is a little delayed, but I forgot that I took pictures on our snow days! So, here they are!

Valentine's Day!

This is what I walked into on Valentine's Day. All I asked for were flowers and chocolate. But, I also found a gift certificate for a mani and pedi, and a REALLY CLEAN apartment! Nothing says love like a clean home :) Thanks, Matt!!

We enjoyed our Valentine's Day working out at the gym and then using our gift card at California Pizza Kitchen

We had to include Beacon, of course! (His fur is getting a little out of control.)

Thanks, Natalie and Stratton for the cute valentines!!

I love January!

False! I do not love January at all. However, the reality is that this is life in the midwest, so I decided that I need to remind myself of all that I am thankful for (even in the bitter cold of winter)...
1.) Satin Hands by Mary Kay (thanks, Dad)-say goodbye to dry, almost raw hands
2.) The sunny skies in Chicago
3.) Friends that I have made (thank you, Lord!)
4.) Uggs and North Face
5.) My bite guard-cost a fortune but working wonders!

I am tempted to write about all of the things that I am looking forward to, but I am trying to focus on the blessings of each day :) I think that is a good challenge.
